CHJA is unique as we are members of both the Appraisal Institute of Canada and the CBV Institute (formerly the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators). 

Our valuations are insured and have been relied upon by leading financial institutions, the Court of Queen's Bench and in various arbitration proceedings.

CHJA has also prepared numerous rebuttals and reviews of other valuation and appraisal reports to assist our clients in legal proceedings and negotiations.

Valuation reports prepared by CHJA include:
  • Business Valuation Reports prepared in accordance with CBV Institute Standards.
  • Narrative Real Estate Appraisal Reports prepared in accordance with CUSPAP (Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Standards).

transaction Services

CHJA has acted as a financial advisor in sale of businesses to third party purchasers as well for transactions involving partial business interests between shareholders.

In addition to providing advice on valuation, CHJA has assisted clients with preparing offering documents, marketing of the business,  negotiations and preparing letters of intent.

CHJA works with a network of  accountants and other tax professionals to ensure that contemplated transactions provide an optimal tax outcome.





Financial Dispute Resolution

CHJA has provided valuations to assist both legal counsel and parties to a dispute with:
  • the division of property for marital disputes;
  • the resolution of shareholder disputes;
  • and the settling of estates.
In addition, CHJA has prepared income calculations in accordance with the Federal Child Support Guildelines to assist with Family Law matters as well as calculation of loss reports for civil litigation.

Daryn Hobal is registered as a financial neutral and is a member of the board of the Edmonton Association of Collaborative Family Professionals.  

Collaborative divorce is an alternative for couples who wish to use an interest based process to resolve family law disputes outside of court.
